Donald Trump wins the 2024 US presidential election with a stunning victory over Kamala Harris…Congratulations sir

Donald Trump has pulled off an astounding political comeback and regained the White House after being declared the winner of the 2024 U.S. presidential election.

He becomes the first president in over 130 years – and only the second in history – to win a non-consecutive second term.

His defeat of Vice President Kamala Harris marks a remarkable return for a twice-impeached president, who left office in 2021 on the back of claims that he had incited an assault on the U.S. Capitol building, and who was convicted earlier this year on multiple counts of business fraud.

The 78-year-old Trump will also become the oldest president ever inaugurated, beating President Joe Biden’s record by five months.

He pulled off his remarkable victory on a night reminiscent of 2016, sweeping the key swing states of North Carolina, Georgia and Pennsylvania.

Associated Press called Wisconsin at 5.34am (ET) Wednesday and the race just three minutes later.

Harris never conceded the race. Instead former Rep. Cedric Richmond – her campaign co-chair – said after midnight Wednesday that the vice president would not be addressing supporters until ‘tomorrow.’

His defeat of Vice President Kamala Harris marks a remarkable return for a twice-impeached president.

The pivotal moment came when North Carolina was called for Trump at 11:19pm (ET).

Then, the quiet crowd at the official Republican watch party, held in a convention center in Florida’s West Palm Beach, erupted in a release of nervous energy.

At the same time, the mood at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort – where he was sat amid friends and family watching the results roll in – switched from cautious optimism to ‘a sense of destiny’, one attendee said.

Later at the convention center in the early hours of Wednesday morning, Trump was joined on stage by his jubilant family and campaign staff, as he addressed his adoring fans and declared: ‘We’re going to help our country heal.’

‘This was, I believe, the greatest political movement of all time,’ he said. ‘This is a magnificent victory for the American people, that will allow us to make America great again.’

Certainly, Trump’s resounding win brings an end to a tumultuous 2024 campaign – punctuated with Biden’s dramatic withdrawal from the race in July, as well as two shocking attempts on Trump’s life.

But his inflammatory rhetoric and propensity for personal attacks means he will now lead a divided country that shows little sign of healing.

After announcing he would run again back in November 2022, Trump comfortably saw off other Republican hopefuls – including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former governor of South Carolina Nikki Haley – to secure the Party nomination in March this year.

Entering the summer, he held a comfortable polling lead over President Biden, 81, whose record on the economy and immigration, as well as the obvious problem of his advancing age, were proving disastrous among voters.

The now notorious CNN television debate between the two presumptive nominees on June 27 – in which Biden froze and mumbled, appearing unable to clearly answer even basic questions – only helped Trump further.

On July 13, while addressing crowds at rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, the bullet of would-be assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks ripped through Trump’s right ear. After being swarmed by Secret Service agents, Trump rose to his feet – his shoes missing and his face bloodied – pumping his fist in the air and shouting: ‘Fight! Fight! Fight!’

Just days later, he received a hero’s welcome in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, at the Republican National Convention.

MAGA fans donned mock bandages on their ears in solidarity with the former president and, in a stirring speech on the final night, Trump told a packed-out convention center that he would be a ‘president for all of America’.

But, just three days later, everything changed. Holed up in Camp David with his family, Biden posted a bombshell letter on X announcing that he was withdrawing from the 2024 race.

‘I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term,’ he wrote, before endorsing Kamala Harris as his replacement on the Democratic ticket within the hour.

Harris swiftly corralled support, raking in more than $100 million in donor cash in 24 hours. As she formally accepted the party nomination at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago the following month – a star-studded event featuring the likes of Oprah, Eva Longoria and Kerry Washington – she was polling comfortably ahead of Trump.

Harris then trounced Trump in the first and last TV debate between the pair on September 10. His wild accusation that Haitian migrants were ‘eating the dogs […] eating the cats’ of American citizens was an instant internet meme.

In fact, such was Harris’s surging popularity that a second attempt to assassinate Trump – on his West Palm Beach golf course just days later – barely moved the needle.

Fresh pain came for the Trump campaign as his running mate – and now the Vice President-elect – Ohio Senator JD Vance, was hit by a string of disinterred comments in which he attacked female Democrats.

In the most damning, from a 2021 interview, he called Harris, and other women who don’t have children of their own, ‘childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives’.

Indeed, a gender divide swiftly became a key feature of the 2024 race.

Trump’s role in helping to reverse Roe v Wade in 2022, removing the constitutional right to an abortion and returning the decision on related laws to the states, has proven particularly unpopular with female voters.

But, just three days later, everything changed. Holed up in Camp David with his family, Biden announced that he was withdrawing from the 2024 race. He endorsed Kamala Harris as his replacement on the Democratic ticket within the hour and she swiftly corralled support, raking in more than $100 million in donor cash in 24 hours.

The final ABC/Ipsos poll, published this Sunday, had Harris with an 11-point advantage among women.

In the end, however, it seems abortion wasn’t the silver-bullet issue Harris had hoped for. In Florida, Governor DeSantis’s controversial 6-week abortion ban was also on the ballot. But, despite having won every other pro-abortion ballot measure since Roe was overturned, Democrats failed for the first time on Tuesday, falling short of the 60 percent of votes needed to overturn the Florida ban.

Trump, meanwhile, has made substantial inroads with male voters this year. Despite concerns that he and Vance were making the campaign – complete with a shirt-ripping Hulk Hogan – too ‘bro-tastic’, it appears a strong male voter turnout helped Trump clinch it in the end.

In recent weeks, Harris’s healthy poll lead waned, as she finally buckled to pressure to submit herself to rigorous TV interviews. Her rambling and often incoherent answers to questions drew ire even among fans, with veteran Dem strategist David Axelrod last month accusing Harris of going to ‘word salad city’.

In the final days of the campaign, pollsters were almost unanimous in their verdict: this race was too close to call.

Some Trump-friendly analysts, however, pointed to the fact he is consistently under-polled, and that a dead-heat suggested he had the advantage.

Certainly, the immigration crisis on the Southern border, the state of the economy and inflation, as well as the Biden-Harris administration’s record on foreign affairs – from the botched Afghanistan withdrawal in 2021, to Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine, and the outbreak of war in Israel last year – all worked in Trump’s favor.

Following his victory, Trump must now prepare for government once again, undoubtedly drawing from a band of MAGA loyalists who have stuck with him through roiling controversies.

In 2016, he brought in officials from the Republican National Committee as well as from the armed forces who were seen as moderating influences.

This time around, he controls the RNC with his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, at the helm. Meanwhile, military officers who served in his first administration, such as his Chief of Staff, General John Kelly, have warned Trump is not fit for office.

Trump’s opponents fear his new administration will be packed with extremists who will empower the president to do as he pleases.

Elon Musk has been very active on the campaign trail. Trump has promised him a role in his administration, aimed at reducing government waste.
Trump has also promised RFK a major health role in his administration.

On day one in 2017, Trump immediately signed an executive order banning travel from seven mostly Muslim countries.

This time, he has promised to fire the special counsel who is prosecuting him on election interference charges, free some inmates convicted of January 6 offenses, and begin large-scale deportations of illegal immigrants.

Despite the ignominy of those Jan 6 riots and his false ‘stolen vote’ claims after Biden narrowly defeated him in 2020, the American public have softened their opinion on his first term over the last four years, choosing instead to remember the strong economy and secure borders that he oversaw.

Boldly launching his campaign on the back of unexpectedly disappointing 2022 midterm results for Republicans, it was Trump’s sheer force of personality that ultimately saw him grip the party’s grassroots and surge back to unshakeable public prominence.

Tim Murtaugh, Team Trump’s communications chief, told the Daily Mail that the key moment came in closing hours of the race, when Trump donned an apron and manned the fry station at a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania last month.

‘It wasn’t necessarily the act of making French fries or running the drive-thru window,’ he said.

‘It was when he made his approach in the motorcade down the street in Bucks County [PA]. There were 10,000 people lining the street, ten deep on both sides, and that was not a crowd that we built.’

The McDonald’s stunt was meant to be unadvertised, but a local paper got hold of the details and published a story, bringing out a spontaneous crowd.

In the end, an equally spontaneous and sizeable voter turnout – both in early ballots and on Election Day itself – buoyed Trump to victory and kick-started a second term that no doubt will be as dramatic and consequential as the first

Candace Cameron Bure explains terrifying reason her family moved from Los Angeles

Candace Cameron Bure isn’t the first celebrity to move away from Los Angeles in recent years, and chances are she won’t be the last.

The former Full House actress recently opened to Fox News Digital about her decision to move her family away from the City of Angels.

“We didn’t feel safe anymore,” she admitted. “And that was the biggest reason that we moved.”

The 48-year-old actress and mother of three adult children explained how not everyone who lives in Los Angeles lives behind gates, and since they didn’t they often found their safety in jeopardy.

She recalled how over the past few years her family had issues with people taking photos, hiding on their property, and even approaching their door.

“It’s amazing what people feel they can do,” she said. “And wanting to be a part of your life in some way. Some of it is innocent, some of it wasn’t. But it’s quite unnerving when you’re just trying to be a person and live life, and you don’t know what’s around the corner.”

LOS ANGELES – MAR 11: Candace Cameron Bure, husband Valeri Bure and kids arrives at the MUPPETS MOST WANTED LOS ANGELES PREMIERE on March 11, 2014 in Los Angeles, CA

Recently, she took to Instagram to address a frequently asked question.

Yes, the Bure family had moved from Los Angeles.

“‘Why?’ Mostly for security reasons,” she shared on her Instagram Story. “Also, family dynamics have changed. The kids don’t live in Los Angeles anymore. Mama will go where they go! I travel a lot. The seasons of life.”

While she didn’t share with her fans where she moved, she told Fox News Digital that she’s still in California.

‘There have been all kinds of stories as to where we moved, and none of them are right,” Bure said. “None of them. We didn’t move to Nashville. We didn’t move to Texas. We’re actually still in California. We just moved up north. We’re no longer in Los Angeles.”

It’s completely understandable that Bure and her family would want to move if so-called fans approach the family at their private residence

My mother-in-law bought me the best mattress – I was terrified when I learned her true purpose

Having a supportive and loving mother-in-law can be a blessing and can greatly enrich one’s family life. When Larissa got married to Toby, her mother-in-law welcomed her into the family with open arms and treated her like her own daughter. With her parents living far, Larissa felt like she had found a true mother in Julia.

“She’s loved you since the beginning, Larissa,” her husband told her.

Pexels

Julia, being the perfect mother, would visit her son and daughter-in-law often. She helped around the house, prepared lunch and dinner, and even did the laundry. She was of great help to both Toby and Larissa and they wanted her there.

Sharing her story, Larissa said that Julia filled the role of a mother — a mother in close proximity anyway.

After three years of marriage, both Toby and Larissa believed it was the time they try become parents. However, that didn’t come to them as easily as they anticipated.

Months passed by, and Larissa failed to get pregnant each time. She even started feeling bad about that, but neither she nor her husband ever lost hope.

Pexels

During those times of uncertainty, Julia was there to provide comfort to Larissa. She took her to meet with a wellness coach, she took her for fertility massages, and then, she even bought the couple a brand new mattress.

“Maybe your body is just not rested enough,” Larissa’s mother-in-law said. “Maybe you just need to give your body the best chance possible at this.”

“Do you think that it was a bit unnecessary?” Larissa asked her husband as they got into bed that night, testing out their new mattress.

“Normally, I would have said yes,” Toby admitted. “But maybe there’s something to what Mom said. Our mattress was horrible before. Maybe it will make a difference.”

And it did. Just a month later, Larissa learned she was pregnant. She was so overjoyed that she feared to share the news with her husband and the rest of her family until she visited multiple doctors who confirmed she was indeed carrying a baby.

Pexels

And then, before they knew it, their daughter, Maddie, was born.

With a baby in the house, Larissa’s mother-in-law offered to help, just as she did before, and Larissa was thankful she had someone like Julia in her life who took great care of her baby girl.

Julia wasn’t only the MIL everyone wished for, but she was also the perfect grandmother.

However, it was like that until she made a discovery that left Larissa wondering if she could trust her mother-in-law ever again.

One night, as Maddie was sleeping in her parents’ bed, she urinated on it so Larissa decided to open the cover of the mattress and clean it. Her husband offered to help her, but just as he opened the cover, his face turned red. Larissa could feel something was off.

“Oh, honey,” he said looking straight into Larissa’s eyes. “We cannot use this anymore.”

Pexels

“What do you mean?” she asked, setting Maddie down. “Did she get it into the mattress?”

Looking nervous, Toby picked up the mattress so that it stood on its side. “No, it’s not that,” he uttered.

“What are you talking about? It’s just a mattress, we’ll clean it–” Larissa said.

“No, Larissa,” he interrupted, his voice rising in panic. “It’s not just a mattress.”

Sleep-deprived and feeling a bit irritated with her husband she once again asked, “What?”

“Look what I found,” Toby said as he handed her a little silk bag filled with various herbs.

Unspash

“What is this? Where did you find it?” Larissa was eager to learn.

“It was pinned to the mattress. It was under the mattress protector, so I think we just didn’t notice it before.”

“Fine, but what is it for?” she asked, confused and irritable.

“It’s fertility herbs, it has to be!” Toby exclaimed.

At that point, Larissa had no idea what her husband was talking about.

“Listen, I don’t know if this is true or not, but I do know that my mother believes in old wives’ tales. What if this is one of those tales?”

Pexels

“She would never do that,” Larissa screamed. “No way!”

“Then where else did it come from?” Toby asked flatly.

That night, the family slept on the couch. Looking at Maddie, Larissa recalled the time they struggled to conceive and how desperate both she and Toby were. But now they had their baby girl, and she was perfect. She was theirs in every sense of the word, but those herbs having anything to do with Maddie coming into this world was a thought that bothered Larissa because of unknown and inexplicable reasons.

Pexels

As Larissa was doing her best to quiet her mind and fall asleep, she was disturbed by the smell of gas. When she took a look from the window, she saw Toby setting the mattress on fire.

The fire flickered with an intensity that mirrored the inner turmoil Larissa was experiencing. She grappled with trying to comprehend Julia’s intentions. Given her usual closeness to her, Larissa found it puzzling why she would keep that information from her.

If she was open about the herbs, then maybe Larissa wouldn’t feel the paranoia and fear that had settled in her body upon her husband’s discovery.

Anything bordering the supernatural was beyond Toby’s comfort zone. He and Larissa stood there in silence, both wondering what was going on in their home without their knowledge.

Pexels

In the morning, Julia appeared at Larissa’s door. She was as energetic and as happy as always.

Looking at her, Toby felt the need to confront her. “Mom, why didn’t you tell us about the mattress? About the herbs?” he asked with a steady voice.

At that moment, her face crumpled and her usual vibrancy was replaced by a somber guilt.

“I just wanted to help. I knew that you were having trouble conceiving, and I thought that if it worked, you wouldn’t care how. I never meant to hurt either of you. Especially not my granddaughter,” she tried to explain her action.

Pexels

“What else did you do? What’s in the bag? Other than the herbs?” Toby’s questions flew hard and fast around the room.

“Nothing!” Julia exclaimed. “It’s just dried herbs. I can give you a list of them,” she said. “I’ll take you both to the store where I got them from. It’s a sweet little apothecary next to my dentist. It’s a store all about natural wellness.”

“You could have just told us,” Larissa said. “How we can trust anything you do now? How do we know if our baby is a miracle baby or just an outcome of your herbs?”

“Does that matter?” she asked, her eyes brimming with tears. “Maddie is here and she’s ours.”

Larissa couldn’t argue with that, Maddie was there, she was the baby she longed for. But she was also angry at Julia for not being honest.

“I’m sorry,” Julia whispered. “I really am.”

“We need to start over, Mom,” Toby said. “If you plan on doing anything like this again, you have to tell us first. We need to know what’s going on in our own home.”

The two decided to forgive Julia because they knew deep down she loved them and she did what she did for them.

Larissa was still confused. She was somewhat grateful to her mother-in-law, but she just couldn’t believe that sleeping on a bunch of herbs could help her get pregnant.

If you see this symbol out and about, here’s what it means

Nearly 7 million people live with dementia in America today…

…And this is expected to more than double by the year 2050 due to the increasing number of elderly people, according to the Alzheimer’s Association.

There is no doubt that dementia is a brutal disease for the person affected, but also for those close to them. It is a chronic, incurable condition caused by various diseases or damage to the brain.

There are different types of dementia, but the common denominator is that it causes a cognitive impairment that often goes beyond the ability to function in daily life.

If the illness has first struck, it is incredibly important for both the person and relatives that those affected have a good and safe place to be, and that the person can live as normally as possible in society as far as possible.

In several places in the world, there are various symbols that you can wear to show those around you that you are affected by dementia. In the US, for example, there is a purple bow that can be attached to the jacket.

“Unfortunately, many people do not know the signs”

In other places, like Scandinavia for example, there are also symbols used, unfortunately many people do not know about them. Something Danish man Claus Skjoldborg Larsen has pointed out.

In a Facebook post, he raised an important topic: “We had my father-in-law and his wife for dinner. She has started dementia, she proudly displays her dementia symbol and says that unfortunately not many taxi drivers or others know about those signs. I must honestly admit that I am in the same boat.”

He continued: “Then I have promised to do some advertising for the Dementia symbol. And you are welcome to help a little with advertising.”

“The dementia symbol should make it safer for people with dementia – and thus their relatives – to move around in public spaces.”

Credit: Facebook / Claus Sjkoldborg Larsen

“The dementia symbol is a tool you can use if you want to show that you have dementia – for example to meet greater understanding and patience out among other people, on the bus or in the supermarket.”

He also reminds us of three simple pieces of advice if you see the dementia symbol:

  • Get in touch – smile and be welcoming;
  • Speak clearly – Ask one question at a time; and
  • Be patient – slow down a bit, and be happy to help along the way.

“I would have felt safer”

In the Facebook group, Alzheimer’s in young people, several people point out that they had felt safer with such a symbol.

“I thought it was reassuring to have a badge on my jacket that said I have Alzheimer’s. If I get lost or don’t remember where I’m going, I think people will be more understanding and helpful when they know you’re messing up a bit due to illness and not just because you’re a bit gloomy,” one person wrote.

They added: “Awareness and knowledge of the disease should be spread. It will be safer for those of us who have dementia to move out among people if we have a sign that we have an illness that may mean we need help.”

It’s important to know about the symbols that are out there that show that someone has Alzheimer’s. Feel free to share this article to spread the word so that more people can learn about this!

“Mommy just made alien water on the floor”

Chantelle Edmund had carefully planned an underwater birth, but life had a different agenda. Baby Eva Rai arrived two weeks early, leaving Chantelle with no choice but to deliver at home. Her 8-year-old daughter, Keira Jade, and niece stepped up.

In Chantelle’s words, “When the unexpected happens, you discover how strong you truly are.” Keira and her niece fetched towels and water, aiding in the rapid delivery. Just 35 minutes later, little Eva Rai entered the world with Keira’s steady hands helping.

After ensuring her mom and sister’s safety, Keira called for an ambulance, humorously telling the operator, “My mother just made an alien on the floor!” Before this, Keira believed babies came from a “secret door” in a mother’s belly. This real-life experience transformed her into a hero in her school community and filled her with immense love for her new sister.

As the story illustrates, heroism can come from unexpected places, often closer to home than we realize

If you find these holes in your clothes, you had better know what it means

Chances are you’ll have fallen victim to holes in your clothes before. If you haven’t, then I congratulate you on having acquired the necessary wealth not to have to wear the same clothes over and again until they threaten to fall apart.

For the majority of us mere mortals, however, eventually coming across holes in our favorite t-shirts or dresses is a fairly common thing.

That’s not to say it isn’t annoying, just that you grow used to it after a while. I have, in any case. In fact, on countless mornings have I gone to put on a t-shirt before work, only to notice a number of small holes that leave me with a very real predicament to contemplate: do I wear the t-shirt and hope no one notices? Or do I just throw it away and accept defeat?

As it happens I most always side with the second option, and it’s for that reason that I decided to dig a little deeper into these mysterious holes, what causes them, and what can be done to avoid them.

So, let’s start with the cause. Unsurprisingly, the list of things that can leave holes in your clothing is long and varying. Moths, for example, are a well-documented culprit, but not every hole is a result of fabric being moth-eaten.

No, the explanation may be as simple as your item of clothing suffering from plain old wear and tear, or perhaps it has snagged on something, including a zipper, bra, belt, seatbelt, or rough surface.

If the holes are found close to the midriff, it could be your belt buckle that’s the issue. Going beltless is an obvious solution to this problem, though that’s not always viable. You could also try adjusting the position of the belt, or even smoothing rough or potentially sharp edges with sandpaper.

Something else you might not have considered is the act of washing your clothes, at least in so far as how much you’re trying to wash at any given time. Apparently, overloading the washing machine can result in holes in your clothes, and you should always take care to turn items with beads, buttons, or other decorations inside out.

You should also avoid overusing chlorine bleach (if you use it at all), as this can result in holes in clothing.

Lastly – and yes, this is going to sound painfully obvious – be mindful of rough surfaces including brick and stone, as well as items that might be protruding from said surfaces, such as nails.

Behind the scenes of Diana and Michael Jackson’s connection

There’s a striking image of Princess Diana and Michael Jackson that’s always stuck with me.

At first glance, it seems like just a moment shared between two legends, but dig a little deeper, and there’s so much more to their story.

Did you know there was more to their bond than what meets the eye?

Neither Princess Diana nor Michael Jackson needs any further introduction – their iconic status speaks for itself.

It was certainly not unimaginable that these two larger-than-life personalities would meet, but few could have guessed that their encounter would lead to something more than just polite small talk…

Only met in person once

To begin with, Diana, affectionately known as ”The People’s Princess,” was a big music fan. In fact, her favorite band was reportedly Duran Duran, and she loved their music, especially during the 1980s.

However, Diana’s record collection also featured albums by Michael Jackson, which shows that she truly enjoyed his music as well. For example, she is said to have played the albums Thriller and Bad on repeat.

MJ’s music was also the reason Diana met him on July 16, 1988.

That day, she and her then-husband, Prince Charles, attended Michael Jackson’s Bad tour concert at Wembley Stadium, marking both their first and last meeting.

“She told me she was honored to meet me,” Jackson told Barbara Walters in a 1997 interview.

Michael recalled feeling incredibly nervous before shaking hands with Diana—a tension you can almost sense in the photos from that day. There was a reason their first encounter felt a bit awkward and tentative.

This was largely because the superstar had decided to remove the song “Dirty Diana” from the concert setlist, worried it might upset her. The song, which is about a rock groupie, seemed inappropriate to perform with the female royal in attendance, or so he thought.

“I took it out of the show in honor of Her Royal Highness,” Jackson told Barbara Walters in 1997.

But the move didn’t sit so well with Diana.

Diana asked Michael if he was going to perform “Dirty Diana” during the meet-and-greet before the show. He replied that he had removed it from the setlist because of her presence. However, she insisted that he perform it, encouraging him to go ahead and sing the song. Ultimately, Michael performed the song.

Michael Jackson was clearly a big fan of Diana and held a great deal of respect for her.

”I thought the princess was just wonderful,” Jackson told reporters at the time.

Knowing how much she adored her sons, Michael also gifted her two miniature tour jackets for her children, Princes William and Harry.

Diana, an avid pop music fan, was said to have danced during the whole concert while Prince Charles remained seated.

Was Michael Jackson in love with Diana?

What many might not have anticipated was that their first encounter in 1988 would ignite the start of an incredibly powerful bond.

“We were very close,” Jackson told German media in 1999. “She was extremely close by phone… I was still married to Lisa Marie [Presley]. Diana woke me up usually late at night… mostly after three in the morning! And then she held me for hours on the telephone. She talked mostly about her children, and the press.”

Michael claimed that Diana would keep him on the phone for hours.

”Lisa Marie used to get so jealous she would go into the other room, pick the receiver and listen in,” he said.

Whether or not the late-night calls truly happened remains unconfirmed. According to Diana’s friends who spoke with The Express, Jackson reportedly never had Diana’s private number. If he called Kensington Palace, staff were instructed not to connect him to the princess.

But what we do know is that the two shared similar experiences and a passion for the same causes.

Both Diana and MJ were deeply engaged in civic causes. When they first met, the humanitarian Jackson had donated $188,000 to the youth-oriented Prince’s Trust charity and an additional $126,000 to the children’s charity at London’s Great Ormond Street Hospital.

The couple also shared a similar taste in jewelry. Both Michael and Diana were clients of one of England’s leading fashion jeweler, Butler & Wilson.

But was there something deeper than just friendship and shared values?

Jackson’s former bodyguard, Matt Fiddes, confirmed the late-night calls, even claiming that the singer was “in love” with Diana.

Fiddes, who worked closely with Jackson for a decade, said:

“[Jackson] felt she was the only person in the world who could understand his life in terms of not being able to go anywhere, and the media stories that got out of hand… The intrusion into the private life, having no privacy whatsoever, the children being hounded.”

How did Michael Jackson react to Diana’s death?

What also united Michael Jackson and Princess Diana was their shared experience with paparazzi. Both were likely among the most photographed individuals for many years.

Diana was constantly in the spotlight, and her persona contrasted with the royal family always drew interest from tabloids and photographers alike. Similarly, Michael Jackson’s life story and ever-changing appearance made him a prime target for the media.

The pair are said to have remained friends until Diana’s tragic death in 1997.

When Michael learned of her passing, he was devastated. According to The Express, the news reportedly hit the star so hard that he fainted and had to be revived with smelling salts upon hearing of her passing.

He also postponed a performance on his HIStory tour. The singer was set to perform a concert in Belgium before an audience of 60,000 people, but the organizers reported that Jackson was so stunned by Diana’s death that he was unable to go on stage.

In a sad twist of fate, Diana had died just two days after Michael’s 39th birthday.

When he returned to the stage after a couple of days, he paid tribute to his late friend. He expressed, “In my heart, I was saying, ‘I love you, Diana. Shine. And shine on forever, because you are the true princess of the people.’”

Did Michael Jackson go to Diana’s funeral?

However, Michael did not attend Diana’s funeral. Instead, he went to a memorial service for her in Los Angeles, where he told reporters that he wanted to be there to “honor my friend who is no longer here… I love her.”

Dressed in black, sporting a black fedora and a red armband, Jackson arrived at the church in Los Angeles surrounded by an entourage of bodyguards. He was one of 1,000 guests in attendance.

Michael Jackson spoke fondly of Diana on several occasions after her death. In 2003, he expressed his feelings once again, calling her “one of the sweetest people I’ve ever known, because we could relate to each other.”

He continued, “We shared something in common, with the press. I don’t think they hounded anyone more than her and myself. And we had a relationship, where we would call each other late at night… just cry on each other’s shoulders, how hard and difficult and how mean the tabloids can be.”

It’s quite fascinating to watch Diana and Michael Jackson together. Sadly, they’re both gone before their time under strange circumstances. The photographer capturing that iconic moment likely didn’t realize the historic significance of what would be Diana and Michael’s only meeting. Yet, in hindsight, the image reflects the first tentative steps of a bond that would grow stronger with time

Tomm Tennent: The unique baby born with enough skin to cover the body of a five-year-old child

Back in 1993, the birth of a baby boy named Tomm Tennent from South East Australia stunned not only his parents and doctors, but pretty much the entire world. The story of his mysterious condition which left him with enough skin to cover the body of a 5-year-old made everyone wonder what life would bring for this boy.

Tomm’s parents were aware their bundle of joy would be different, but no ultrasound could prepare them for the severity of the condition. When they were told something was wrong with their baby, they even considered terminating the pregnancy, but luckily, that didn’t happen.

Speaking to 60 Minutes Australia, Tomm’s dad, Geoff Tennent, said back in 2003, “When he came out I was quite shocked (…) I didn’t think a human, or a little baby, could ever look like that.”

His mom also spoke of the moment she first saw her baby boy. “My heart came up to my throat, but at the same time it was lovely to pick him up and cuddle him,” she said.

Over the years, Tomm spent a lot of time at hospital, not because he was sick, but because doctors wanted to examine his condition and learn how to help him. Since the literature never documented a case like his before, they had a hard time learning what caused him to have so much excess skin.

Upon further research, they were finally able to give Tomm and his parents some answers.

Namely, experts saw similarities between the way Tomm looked and the Chinese dog breed Shar Pei. They discovered that Tomm’s level of Hyaluronic acid, found in skin, was 100 times higher than normal, which is the case with Shar Pei puppies.

Knowing that those levels drop as puppies grow older, doctors hoped the same would eventually happen to Tomm. And they were right.

However, until reaching that point in life, Tomm experienced certain difficulties. Besides that, he has always been a lovable boy who loved the way he looked.

When asked if he had any concerns about how his friends saw him, Tomm told 60 Minutes, “Not really (…) because they are my friends and they don’t really care how I look like. Sometimes they (people) say I look cool, sometimes they say I look really cool, and sometimes they don’t say anything.”

Since 2003, when Tomm and his parents gave the interview to 60 Minutes, 21 have passed. Today, Tomm looks completely normal, no excess skin at all.

Although his story didn’t receive much media attention while he was growing up, except for, of course, when he was born, many people wondered how Tomm looks like nowadays.

Well, according to his Facebook, he’s happily married to wife Hannah.

Meet Tomm today.

“Life’s simple. You make choices, and you don’t look back,” Tomm posted on his Facebook profile, and we assume this quote sums up his mindset and his whole life.
