An extensive update has been provided following a gentleman’s return to his residence only to discover that an individual had erected a $2 million residence on his property.
Dr. Daniel Kenigsberg was taken aback to find a dwelling on his property.
In 1991, Kenigsberg procured a parcel of land in Fairfield, Connecticut.
He acquired the land due to its proximity to his childhood abode and had intentions to transmit the land to his kin. He became the sole possessor after his sibling passed away in 2011.
He had even rejected offers from previous developers to purchase the land – the doctor declined an offer of $400k in 2022.
Therefore, finding out that a structure had been constructed on his land without his authorization left him visibly startled.
According to a report disseminated by NBC New York, the developers alleged that they procured the plot in 2022 for $350k.
Nonetheless, Kenigsberg refuted selling his land and insisted that a ‘fraudulent’ record was presented to the legal counsel, and someone from South Africa impersonated him.
He subsequently filed a lawsuit against the developers Sky Top Partners LLC, demanding compensation amounting to $2 million.
He also requested the removal of the house from his property and restoring it to its prior state.
The developers contended that they too had fallen victim to a deception where an individual claimed to be Kenigsberg.
The lawsuit has since been resolved, with Kenigsberg consenting to a settlement, as per Law360.
The specifics of the agreement have not been disclosed to the public, but it is said that he received a sum of money.
It was also disclosed in July of this year that the property was disposed of for $1.45 million – indicating that Kenigsberg has completely disassociated himself from the land.
